性質描述:  淺黃至無色液體。有紫羅蘭香味。溶于乙醇、乙醚、丙二醇,不溶于水和甘油。沸點140℃(2.4kPa),126-128℃(1.6kPa),相對密度 0.945,折射率1.5205,閃點112℃。

生產方法:  可從Boronia megastigma種子的揮發油中分離得到。

化學合成可用檸檬醛與丙酮縮合制?。河蓹幟嗜┡c丙酮在稀苛性鈉溶液中縮合,再用硫酸或磷酸環化得α、β-紫羅蘭酮。將α體分離后得β體。也可用異丁烯與甲基乙烯基酮制取。亦可用假紫羅蘭酮在硝酸作用下環合制取。

用途:  用于日化、食品香精中,大量用于生產維生素A、E和胡羅卜素。
